Great Wedding Venues

Just some random ideas for great wedding venues and how to choose them!

You make your proposal and the next question is where? How do you go about choosing a great wedding venue for your wedding day. The first thing on every young couples mind is cost, your choice of wedding venue reflects your budget and not everyone can afford the biggest and the best but there are always some deals to be had! We'll just point out some of our favourite wedding venues and how to get the best deal if you want to try for these or for any other wedding venues of your choice.

My personal favourite is Saunton Sands, why, well because I live down the road and I got married there! Great choice because there are few wedding venues that overlook five miles of golden sands on a great surfing beach that makes for amazing wedding pictures. Also, they are part of the Brend Hotels group which are always first class from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The food is excellent and the staff are just brilliant. My second choice is Dartington Hall, one of the leading wedding venues in Devon. Dartington Hall is part of the huge Dartington Estate that is operated to promote the arts and social justice. Just walking around the estate is an adventure in its own right as there are fantastic examples of great art and sculpture dotted arround all over the place. I love Dartington Hall and would view it as one of the top Devon wedding venues.

Yorkshire is also one of the best places in the country to find a fantastic wedding venue. Below are some great photographs taken by the outstanding Leeds Wedding Photographer Simon Whitton. The first image is of Harewood House, now this is a really romantic wedding venue, who wouldn't want to get married in this magnificant wedding venue:

Below is another fantastic photograph taken of Duncombe Park, you really could just imagine yourself driving down that immense driveway to be greeted by the red carpet and staff, you really would feel like royalty!

And then we have the beautiful Ripley Castle, the photograph really does the venue great justice enjoying stunning scenery that would really make fantastic wedding photographs!

So how do you get married in one of these unbelievable wedding venues. The short answer is obvious, you need money but you can always try your hand at negotiating the price down. Wedding venues will always be very busy at the weekends and summer weddings at great wedding venues would always be reserved well ahead of the wedding date, typically years. Weekday weddings wont though so if you want to get married at a great wedding venue, try choosing a week day as they would generally bite your hands off and would be more than willing to barter for a deal!

If you have to get married at the weekends, out of season is also a great idea to cut costs and get into a better quality wedding venue. Try October and April or early May, you may end up being lucky and the weather can sometimes be better than in the midlle of the summer - especially if you look at the past couple of years!

Good luck with finding your own peronal favourite wedding venue and we wish you all the best for your big day!
