Five More Tips To Save Money On Your Wedding Day.

Five more ideas to help you save money on your wedding day.

Following on from our first five tips for a cheaper wedding, we provide another five great ways for you to cut the costs of your wedding day. Weddings are really expensive with the average wedding day now costing over £10 000 which is more expensive than a brand new small car so we thought we'd provide you with another set of great ideas to cut the costs of your wedding day. You really don't have to break the bank to get married!

The first tip is to have your wedding reception at home, you don't have to pay out for a venue and you can get familly and friends to help with the wedding catering, food and drinks for your wedding. Ok you might need a bit of space so you could always rent out the village hall which will probably only set you back a comparitively small amount. This would also help to create a more informal wedding atmosphere if you don't want a stereotypical wedding day.

The second tip is to borrow a friends car for your wedding day. everyone knows someone who knows someone who is really rich, why not ask to borrow their car for the day. You may have to pay for the petrol or send them an invite for the evening but this is a really easy way to save you lots of money and you still get to ride in a nice car! It doesn't have to be fantastic, a decent Range Rover or an older Mercedes would always look good with some ribbons and decorations.

The third tip is to make your own wedding invitations and wedding stationary yourselves. With modern day computing, internet and printing, this is a really simple solution that could save you lots of money. You can easily create wedding place cards yourself, just buy some high quality paper and create the table settings on your computer. The same can be said for your hymn sheets, just copy the songs from a hymn book or the internet and you have your own hymn sheet. You could also create your own personalised wedding invitation for each guests and send them a more personal invite for your wedding day.

The fourth tip is to get mothers and mother in laws to create your own bridal bouquets and dress the church with flowers, lets face it, most mothers and mother in laws love a bit of flower arrangement for weddings so this creates some happy famillies and saves you money at the same time. If they don't want to do it, why not ask your local flower arrangement club to do it as a project and just pay for the materials yourself. this way you should get some great bouquets without having to pay out a small fortune!

The fifth tip is to get your local band in for the evening entertainment, it gives them a chance to showcase their skills and music and they are often a lot cheaper than a professional dj although it may be worth checking out their music befiorehand just to make sure that you like their style. Alternatively, ask a friend who likes music to do it for you, hire a PA system and off they go, you can even choose the music for them!
